Guys as i am a newbie in chess , i didnot get when queen takes knight at the end why Ding resigned. gukesh has the lead of only 3 points in that match but not checkmate then why Ding resigned instead of playing till last so that Gukesh may also would have did few blunders? Or was it a checkmate (I want you to explain me the scenario that why he resigned how gukesh would have Won)

Match pic.
This is the last moment :

AMagirlcom

after bxc6, Gukesh plays Rxb8 and is regaining the queen and is up a knight

after Qxc3, Gukesh plays Bxc3 and if cxb3, Gukesh plays Rxb8 and is up a rook

the reason that he resigned is that grandmasters almost never blunder, ding only blundered because he was low on time

Notice if bxc6 Rxb8 the queen is pinned and will be regained. White is up a knight.

even if ding wanted to fight the pawns are so isolated it’s hard if not impossible to defend
