A race to the finish!

I just played a great game against shaprice1.  It was dicey for a while there, but a lot of fun, thought I'd post.

Have you noticed that your rating is leet (1337) in that game?

Anyway, I liked your opening, it is the sort of thing I like to play very much.

6. d4? I suppose it breaks up the centre, but you really didn't have to lose the knight.

15. gxf4? I would have played Qxf4 as it keeps the pawn structure together, the defence of your king intact and you will have to move your queen soon anyway when it is threatened by the rook.

19. Qg2? Qd4 was better I think. It protects the C pawn and stops white threatening your E pawn.

28. Qc4+! Perfect! Good move.

and all of your moves near the end were just as good. You wrap up games well.

26. Qf6

would have kept black way ahead...

 that are Rc8 with R8c2

the point is, white does not have an effective attack.

7. Nxd4 ?? you lose a piece for a pawn

20. Rd3 ?? loses the exchange and you are now down a whole rook without any real compensation

I would say black just threw the win away
