a silicon battle
Very impressive for white. I always thought the Dunst opening gave black too much ground, but white was able to get a win.
Oh, and by the way 1.Nc3 is not a bad opening move at all. It develops the knight and puts pressure on the central squares.
But as soon as the knight gets out there, it's pushed back by black's queen pawn. Advancing a pawn gives you the ability to develope one of your bishops and also controls the center.
Also, I've never liked reading through 'computer vs computer' chess games. They usually feel kind of dry and not all that inspired.
I totally agree.
I was looking through hydras games and found this from IPCCC 2004. It's a pretty rare opening and made me wonder if this was played without opening books since Nc3 is a pretty bad opening move for white but often played by chess engines when you run them without opening books. Anyway I found this game pretty fun since it didn't get stale or drawn out as the silicon battles often are.
