Yes, after 13. f4 Kxf4 14. Rf1 doesn't lead to mate after Ke5.
I'm not sure 7. Ng5 can be considered a "brilliant move" given that it leads to a forced draw with best (and obvious) play. Objectively, it is a mistake.
d4 wouldn't be but g3 would be.

No, g3 is not mate because the king can go back to e5. d4 is check from the bishop on c1 and covers the e5 square.

You're right on the money. Any decent player would be (and should be) happy to take a draw after 7 Ng5?! (I admit that it's a beautiful mating net, but only weak players would fall for it.)
Thankyou for posting your comments, interesting to read them all. The link of this actual game is on youtube and its about time you guys saw it! I dont know who its between but check it out! :-

I admit that once bishop takes queen then in theory it should be draw by perpetual check but I certainly wouldnt go so far as to say it is a bad move. I suppose it should be a draw. I just think this game was a bit of fun and it appears attractive with a Queen sacrifice and fun King chase. Watch the actual video guys and tell me what you think.
