one of my best games
I used to pull the Q out for the Qf7# but have since realized especially in tournaments there's so many ways to get around it and when they do it usually loses tempo in the process, thus 5. Qh5 was a complete waste of a move. 8. Bb5 isn't the best, considering black can just hit 8. a6 and push it back for another wasted move. I haven't had a chance to play it out but 15. Qf6 threatens Q*R, so 15. ... Q*Q 16. P*Q and after a push you could have a pawn on the 7th rank protected by the bishop and rook. That may be more trouble then it's worth after ... Rh7 and ... Ke7 but throwing it out there. 16. Kn*P threatening Kn f6. For 27, what about d3? Gives the possibility of pulling out the bishop later. Instead, what about 34. b4? If K*P Qd6+ with real possibilities to mate quickly or P*P ep 35. Ba3+ forcing Kd4 c3+ with mate in 2. Good players for that lvl of play, but it could have been done at 35-6 instead of him resigning at 40.
ill be a little kinder....
with the mistakes your opponent made...you should have won handidly....
after he lost his queen, he seemed to forget the rules of chess
