Post weird looking checkmates here

Sort:

I have only played two checkmates; one with a real person, another with a 250 rating bot.I have a photo of the second one (which was a mistake.)

Sorry for the anti-weirdness. If you are wondering about the two queens, I got them from pawn promotion.

I wonder how many players on this site do not know how to get extra queens.

Shortest possible mates with each piece from the opening position

Queen:

Rook:

Bishop:

Knight:

Pawn:

(At least I think it's this)

Sorry if this takes up a lot of space!

How about some more weird checkmates that are realistic and come from real games rather than this composed nonsense?  I must admit though that I'm impressed with those that have the patience and ability to put this composed nonsense together.happy.png

What about the king?  Obviously it would have to be a discovery.  And I know the king would not be the checkmating piece but it would be the piece that moves on the checkmating move.

That would be very interesting.

you cannot mate with king unless you castle (im pretty sure)

so maybe opening a file and then castling

That's true.  I guess castling doesn't count as a discovered check.  But it is a shared move between the king and rook.

What I mean is something like in the accompanying analysis diagram.  What's the quickest checkmate with the king moving for a discovered checkmate?

Yes, like this classic game.  But what's the quickest such a discovered checkmate with the king moving could occur?

I don't know but that was 18 moves. I doubt you could get much quicker even in a composition.

I'm not talking about discovered mates.

I'm going to try to take @ArtOfArcane's idea and try to do that

I think it's that
