Wait. moving your king to the other side of the board is a win?

I don't think that's true.

Yes, there is a common misconception among chess players, both beginning and advanced, that a silly rule, originating in Australia, named "Check, mate!" is in place to determine the winner of a chess game when in reality, whoever gets their king to the opposite rank of the board is deemed the truthful victor. 

I didn't realize it was a check mate (I was so low on pieces before the pawn promotion) that I thougt this was a glitch!

I had 8 seconds on the clock and it was apparently mate!

I was losing so I just check my opponent randomly and hoping to get a better position or win material,then I accidentally win!
