Should've won, then should've lost, then pulled it out

Here is a game that I should have won, and then should have lost, and then well, just check it out to find out.  This was played in 2006 at the Kings Island Open in the U1200 section.  Now, I'm not a very good chess player, but like to think that I play higher than my rating (doesn't everyone though?).  Very interesting game, and the one that I like to show off.  There 's  no commentary becuase I am horrible at examining my own games.

I wasn't really that suprised Gonnosuke, I would have done that, but I would have pulled my king out to the center of the board to gain the initiative, and gobble of whites pawns.  Oh, he broke my king and queen after he resigned, when he focefully knocked over the pieces.  I declined a draw earlier and he started taunting me when we were down to 2pawns vs. 2pawns and didn't realize I could gain the opposition.

At a glance and regarding the endgame, it appears that black gave the game away with 52...Kg4 instead of Ke3 or f5.

Who said  chess is boring. This was almost as entertaining as the Australian GP...

When he played Kg4, I started counting squares and thought....holy crap!  I've got a chance!

This was indeed very entertaining. I am new to chess, and would really like to know what "counting squares" mean?
jhempel24

basically it means I was counting squares from my king to his, in respect to my pawns.  "I move here, he moves here, I move here, he moves here" and just counting the squares that would be moved to.

I'm glad you found this entertaining.
