Tactical Fun

This game was a lot of fun. Been in training with a great friend of mine trying to rewire some bad habits I've had in the past, more specifically, playing too quickly. But in this game I really tried to slow down and it wound up being a lot of fun. The end sequence was crazy. Allowing the pawn fork because the opponents bishop will be retaken soon. Allowing my opponent to take my queen temporarily because the pawn is going to promote either way. The trade or mate situation at the end when my opponent resigned. All lots of fun. If it wasn't so late, I'd post the annotated version so you all could critique my thoughts. 😂 I'll be sure to post that up here in the near future.

Good vibes to everyone! 🙏

Good to hear you are enjoying playing again!

If your queen sac was intended and you calculated everythinh till 31.exd8Q, then great calculation for your rating.

Here's my annotated tactical fun game.

It's a duel with rapiers, at the brink of a cliff.

@blueemu The updated, annotated version is now available. I hope you find it illuminating. I'm still working on my analyzing and annotative skills, but all in good time. I'm studying A LOT. So things have to improve eventually.

The classical method of refuting a sacrificial attack is to accept most (but not all) of the offered material, and then return most (but not all) of it to break the force of the attack.

I've long been of the opinion that defending is much more difficult than attacking.
