Focus on getting your pieces in a position where they can attack easily, control lots of squares, get a good pawn structure, get a good position, try to take more of the board and make good trades. Try to put pressure on your opponent.
help!!! 1600 not knowing what to do
attached above are the positions i usually get lost in (sorry if the moves arent best moves or unusual, its a bit late at night and i couldnt bother spending time analyzing what the best moves were)
my opponents dont make one move blunders anymore so yeah, im new to this whole attacking thing , i play the sicilian and queens gambit and ive studied both thoroughly, now heres the issue, in the sicilian najdorf, they usually castle king side, leaving me lost and i have no idea how to make an attack, do i still go on with the queen side attack despite this? and whats a main idea in the closed sicilian for black after both sides develop normally? (my opponents usually do not play open sicilian). it just seems formulating an attack is impossible. Same goes to the queens gambit, after developing everything, it just seems like no attack can be made, my brain shuts down after the opening or rather my brains always off.
any advice please?
Good
endgame, endgame, more endgame (not just study obviously )
Tbh 1600s are kinda like 800s skill issues but they see 18 squares instead of 9
I would recommend trying to learn how to swindle in end games it might help you focus more if your trying to win despite losing plus try to figure out ways to come up with good plans and positional ideas tbh your opponents also eventually collapse typically so I wouldn't worry about it to much just focus on things like not rushing right after he opening (still improve or attack ) focus on positions and good squares for your pieces (preferably ones that trap your opponents but ones where your opponents are forced to overextend are also good)

Tbh I honestly don't know what to do in the opening either I just play moves and they work lol(cause my opponents suck)
If there is no attack, there's no attack. The basics of a sustainable attack are rooted in the positional play for both sides. Attacks are based on weaknesses in the enemy position. No weakness, no attack. At that point you must concentrate on improving your position. Usually you can start by improving your worst placed piece until through the movement of the pieces both yours and his. A weakness is created.
