I love chess.com, and have for years. It's my absolute favorite amongst all chess sites, and so it is with love I point out that those whose products are the very best are pleased when people directly compare their product to competitors'.

I have my volume slider maxed out on my android device and can still barely hear the tap when the opponent makes a move. It even seemed to get more silent since yesterday.
It turned out that the chess.com app does not capture the volume buttons, so I had to switch to the youtube app to make the volume louder in the chess.com app.
well 6 years later here I am trying to lower the volume as well, thank god they moved it to the suggestions hihi
You can only turn off the sound completely (in settings "board and Pieces")
Seem to be having the issue on the desktop app (Chrome on MacOS) but not mobile (iOS). I can barely hear it and I have my laptop at max volume. YouTube and other chess sites sound just fine.
I cant believe its still not possible lol
Year 8 of asking for this feature. It's a volume slider. VOLUME SLIDER. It's basic functionality for anything that includes sound. Why is this so hard?

Re: Here is a thread suggesting some sort of volume controls from 2017 - Everyone who has contributed over the last 7 years gets a notification every time someone else commits to the thread with another +1 for a 'lichess' style profile volume slider - even pro chess streamers are on stream using 'volume master' chrome extension to solve this problem - This all began because my wife would get upset with the clicks upon game reviews - which I myself am forced to use volume master for chrome - but every time I get a notification on this forum thread, it shines a light on the zero response from any sort of dev or chess.com moderators, bots anything - And I'm sure every other member in the thread is similarly reminded. Many of us like to play music in the background, so a volume control is extremely handy if not a must, please consider this.

Hilariously, any response to this that isn't adding a volume slider is just pathetic really. It's so basic that it could be included in any future update.
It's 2024 and we might get GTA 6 before we get a volume slider
