Hi i win the 80% or some here ; against any bot except 2000 elo i can easily win vs the most of bots but i cant beat a bot with 1500 elo because It haves More elo than It pretends

I can draw against a 1600 or maybe win because my FIDE elo Is 1578 but i dont know how It can beats me!!

I got useful information:

I talked on the phone with the president of a chess club that has computers and students often play vs chess.com bots. He said in his experience c.c 1200 bots won 50% of the times vs his students that have 850 c.c rating.

He also has Rodent IV in the computers (he installed it under my recommendation almost a year ago) and according to his experience that engine set at 1200 is 1200 classical and 1400 blitz 5|5, compared to his students c.c rating.

Therefore, looks like komodo 14.1 (chess.com bots engine) is less accurate (overvalued) than Rodent iv for a rating under 1600. But above 1600 they both match in strength.

There's hundreds of students in his club. So, I trust his figures. Plus he is comparing with his students c.c rating, which is a more accurate comparison, since many of his students don't compete in FIDE tournaments, and others with this low rating didn't compete enough times to get accurate FIDE rating.

Thus, If I had to measure my rating from 1200 ahead, I'd use Rodent IV. No idea under 1200. I should have asked, but i don't care much under that rating.

I think the bots ratings are overstated by 25% to 50%

What made you think so?

I have destroyed all of them throug Isabel with black and white pieces. And yeah in rapid i'm 300~400, I Guess time is a factor when You have to think every move. I Guess You can be 1500 in rapid if practice more in your time to move. Sometimes You Will lose due the clock and Elo goes down.

im 480 somethin but ive beaten Wendy (1500)

I’m a rating 300 and Ive beaten up to Wendy(1500) bot. I think ratings on both bots and people alike are inaccurate. I can take on my brother who’s 804 and I’d say we’re a pretty even match. I think 1000 fits us both, not overestimating myself but I genuinely feel we could both be 1000. I think each bot is like 200-400 lower skill level than they say to be, and humans are like 200-700 more than their ratings say, so I don’t think humans or robots are accurate to sum it up. Also, sometimes the game glitches and the bots get the upper hand, bot moves to d4 starting from the other side of the board, I move e4 and it glitches and takes my pawn even though we’re both on 4.

It would be nice if the bots also could win and lose rating. I mean, it works for puzzles. Then their rating would be much more comparable to human rating.

Bots are rated way too high when compared to real game. I have knocked off two 2000 elo bots very easily. This translates to about 1/2 the elo in a real game.

Don’t be deceived in thinking as I was that “jeez I am beating bots left and right I am ready to play someone who’s Leo is the same as the bot”— lol you will Lose.

whatever bot elo your beating, cut the number in half—that’s probably where you are in live play.

anthonygordon123

bruh im 700 and i easily beat bots in the thousand

My elo rating is 1017 and I beat a 2200 Bot, when I checked the analyse it told me that the bot played like a 1400 rated person. No cheats. Conclusion : They rate the bots to high.

TheRealChaspire

Not really. The ELO on the bots vary, the number it shows is the average

So I’m in the 900s and when I go against people in the 900s-1000 range I usually win about 40-50% of the time. But I’ve been facing the bots in ELO order and I’m at the 1300 bots now. Only two of them gave me trouble. Tomas and Maria. They each took me three tries. Every other bot I’ve beaten on the first try. I even went three games in a row without one blunder or mistake against the 1000 ones.
It seems that real people in the 900s put up the kind of fight a 1200 bot character does. Even if I win the game, I ALWAYS struggle against a real person that it pairs me up with.
Maybe it’s just me. Anyone have similar experiences?

I beat Wally about 30% of the time and my Elo is only 450. My peak was 560. I feel like the bot ratings are so skewed. The funniest thing is that sometimes I play unrated chess and go against a 1300 player and they always play like 200s. It’s the strangest thing.
