I think the sequence start from Magnus Carslen - Hikaru - Gukesh D, with Carlsen, being still the best player in the world, with Hikaru occupying a important position as an important player in the tournament and one of the favourites and as direct separation between Gukesh and Magnus, who ofcourse because of his experience and age gap and time gap of WC title between them. So, the sequence goes in an anticlockwise direction in a circular fashion from Carlsen to Nakamura to Gukesh making a L, with Gukesh at the top right with his WC title also because he is youngest and current WC and an attraction to the tournament. It also correlate with the ego of the players in general in the photo. But the sequence do not go Magnus-Gukesh-Hikaru from left to right because Hikaru hair is overlapping on Gukesh photo. But Gukesh SAID in his press interview that he want rise the level of Magnus Carslen after winning WC title. So, from Gukesh the sequence is directly linking to Magnus Carslen to make a circle with no intermediate in between as was the case for the sequence starting from Magnus Carlsen to Gukesh D.
