Paul Morphy vs. The World was not rivalry, it was Slaughter of the innocents.

Fisscher vs Spassky also was not so close. Magnus vs Hikaru is only about online blitz, it should not be compared with something like Karpov vs Kasparov.

Capablanca vs Alekhine was legendary, Botvinnik vs Tal was interesting, Karpov vs Korchnoi very dramatic. But biggest rivalry in chess history was definitely Karpov vs Kasparov. Kasparov is by most GM´s considered best player ever and Karpov is considered by many as “The one who allways lost to Kasparov. But! The two played 144 games each other only in WC matches and Kasparov was only +2 in that 144 games! I means the two was exactly the same strength in matches but Kasparov just had better nerves in most deciding games.
