Fischer deserves respect. He was an American hero. Years later he had problems. He fought with our government and by the way Fischer was correct. Our government had no right to sanction against his playing that match.

To hell with the government and may Bobby rest in peace. -SIX

We were smack in the middle of a cold war with the Soviets.  I think that was a pretty damn good reason to sanction it.  And I could really care less about that.  And I do study Bobby Fischer the chess player and admire his chess skills.  I said "Good Riddance" to Bobby Fischer, the person.

Now is not a time to concentrate on his issues and opinions, he has died so now we should bow our heads and wish him peace.

We will study this dead man's chess for many years to come...

 Thanks Bobby!

My statements about Fischer are true.

My previous statement to you still stands.

I care not who you are or what you think.

Your comment was rude as hell  .

I always mean what I say and  always say what I mean.

My name speaks for itself. The cowboy code of honor should be adopted by many. Respect and honor  are two things that are sorely missed when they are sadly lacking!!-SIX

To say Fischer had "issues and problems" is a bit inadequate. Fischer was a vicious antisemitic psychotic who just happens to have been one of the greatest chess players ever.  He was the "Pete Rose" of chess if ever there was one.  He brought glory and shame to the game in one lifetime.  I'd call it a draw.

bobby... this is the end of your life's game... you've been checkmated by death. RIP king of the 64 squares. bow your heads in prayer. he was one of my favorite players... we miss you bobby!

He was a genius, the last chess player. He was just himself.

AND ALL HIS ARSENAL IN CHESS ARE GOING TO BE BURIED WITH HIM.

He's one of the greatest players ever. I can't say his death upsets me though. Obviously there's all the racism and hatred, but I think that's been suitably covered already. What really bothers me is the Karpov match in '75. Not only was that really petty and selfish, but that hurt the game of chess a lot. Like the world isn't good enough to see him play unless we bend to his ridiculous rules.

Hello;

If you say so. That Bobby Fisher is DEAD. I hope he didn't make a BAD MOVE and LOST his soul. Then, that would be a CHECKMATE for all  ETERNITY. That is something I wouldn't settle for in my own behalf.

A lot of people live their lives like there's no tomorrow.  And, when it's time....... "Where are all my pawns?"

I commend him for being a genius at CHESS. THAT I liked about him.  I didn't like his ARROGANCE.

The only Bobby Fischer worth talking about has been dead for some time. Mental illness grabbed that poor man far before his physical death. Thanks for all you did for CHESS Bobby, hopefully you have reached a place where you can see more of the truth of things.

Famous and forgotten. A genius in his craft. A pariah in his country.

Yes, it was announced on the BBC news last night. I was shocked , he was only 64, (that's young to die nowa days), but looked about 100. God bess him and any family or friend that may grieve for him.

So many judge the man without bothering to research how the American government persecuted the man. Fischer was not the one in the wrong concerning our government taking actions against him and seizing his personal property. Nor was he wrong as many believed when he stated that our government stalked and kept constant watch on he and his family as a child. Freedom of information act has revealed that this was actually true as our government thought his mother was a soviet spy.The man had just cause to view American government as he did.

May a POX fall on the heads of all the officials that deliberately destroyed his life and sent him into hiding.

They did this to a famous American hero.

Think about it!

What could and would they do to you or me on a mere whim.

Only a fool walks a dangerous path with eyes wide shut!-SIX
