Hi does anyone have mods installed on their pc from the old Chessmaster pc game? The ones that change your chess set... all the other links on the web are dead now.
If you could share it I would greatly appreciate it!

Unfortunately all the sites are down with the custom chess sets only one that is working has 2 sets Chess sets created by Qix77

Yeah, apparently the Internet Archive's Wayback Machine isn't working very well right now. It's requiring frequent refreshes.

Is it just the misimatt sets that you can't download?
Just to give you an idea of the problems I'm having in general downloading the files - The misimatt page comes up OK for me, but when I try to download one of the sets, I often get a message like "Secure connection failed - Try again". I might have to try up to 5 or 6 times before it works.

Yeah i wish they did a remaster version. With the chess boom right now it could be profitable. Hd graphics, better engine but leave everything else as is.

Don't hold your breath - Even the guy who maintains the Chessmaster forums says that it's never going to happen.
Yes, too bad really. I remember the series from my childhood, still have, and use version 11.

Sad only 128 sets supported, so that you have to "swap" between which sets to be active. A very strange limitation.
You're welcome. "Girl colours" matter to some women and girls, where others will find them ridiculous and prefer to stick with traditional colours. I'm trying to encourage my 10yo daughter to play casually and perhaps learn a little. She loves her pinks and purples.
The bugs in Chessmaster are always going to be annoying now that it's been abandoned unfortunately. Even when you've chosen your 128 sets if you have a chess set loaded and another that's just been recoloured you have to find a 3rd different chess set with a different shape to load in between the 2. The colours don't change if you just go directly between two based on the same 3D model. There's also no tool available to build a new 3D model, and the effort to reverse engineer the file format was never worth it let alone now.
