Frustrating clock malfunction

I keep losing on time because of some weird clock bugs that always favor my opponent. For example: When I play 15/10 my clock just keeps counting down (maybe even too rapidly), no matter of captures or moves, while my opponents clocks either seem to function normally or sometimes (mostly at the beginning of the game) actually get time added without reason and don’t fall under 15 for the first minutes of the games. This is extremely annoying and distracting. I just had new glass fiber installed and my connection is impeccable and can’t be blamed. I play on a iPad. Does this have anything to do with the settings - iOs or game? How can I solve the problem? Thanks for helping!

It still could be connection related between you and the site or a wifi related issue.

That said, in a 15|10 game, 10 seconds gets added to a player's clock after their moves, so going above 15 minutes is very possible, especially in the opening.

Thanks for your answer, Martin.

During the 15/10 my clock was actually ticking down without any bonus time added. It looked to me like it was added to my opponents time instead. Which lead to weird scenarios like me winning with half a dozen+ pawns more but losing because of a time difference of more than ten minutes. And I'm sure I didn't play this slow.

I started playing 30 minutes games with the computer using the same network and the clock ticks down much more evenly. My winning rate is exploding. Next I'll try a 15/10. Let's see...

If you look at the game in the archive, you'll see time added to your clock after moving. If you were experiencing high lag or disconnects, then it would look like your time was moving faster

I just played a 15/10 on the computer instead of the iPad. Same perfect network. The clock worked perfectly. It must have something to do with using an iOs device.

I was told on mother thread that there is an issue with iOS as my opponents time was counting down, I could not move as I was waiting on them and then I would lose the game where my clock went to zero. I even had conversations where they asked why I was waiting and I told them I was waiting on them.

The problem on the iOS app that was impacting some games was fixed in version 4.7.17
