gd players gonna love this
does anyone have any advice on strategy or tactics? I feel lost playing this game 😭 I want to understand it!
1. Use your center pawns to control the center. 2. In some openings and defenses your Bishops, played to b2/b7 or the g2/g7 squares let you control the center from farther away. 3. Knights are best on your c and f squares. The closer to the center the more squares can be reached by them simultaneously, like an octopus. 4, Castle your King early. It's safer in the corner and it brings a Rook to the central files. 5. Give your Rooks open files and your Bishops clear diagonals. 6. Don't move a piece or pawn repeatedly. 7, Ask yourself "Why did my opponent make that move?" 8. If the other player has, for example, a Bishop defended by a Knight and you have Rooks in position to capture both pieces, first get the Knight. Your Rook is captured and then your other Rook takes the Bishop. You've taken two minor pieces and lost one Rook. You've won the exchange and are ahead in material. 9. Don't move your Queen too early and/or too close to enemy units. If you lose it and get little or nothing in exchange it's *probably* best to resign. BUT if your opponent doesn't realize what a tremendous advantage they have and/or don't use it in a game-winning way, you might still be able to avoid a loss. Hope this helps.
