Hit 1700 in bullet

When i first started playing chess on chess.com i played 10 minute games. Very often I had good positions but struggled with zeitnot(time pressure). I have come to realization that not be able to play fast is my biggest weakness and tried to play shorter time controls. At first it was very hard to do. I blundered every time. I also tried to play bullet. At first it was really bad. I has dropped to 800. I played very slow but continued plying blitz and bullet. Recently something has changed I have become more confident with short time controls. I am not really sure why it happened. Maybe because i played tons of games recently. 14000 bullet here and 11000 blitz and bullet on an other site or maybe because during covid i started exercising and feel very well. Before i has felt that sometimes my brain hasn't been functioning fully. Now i feel like i am on top.

And today i hit 1700 in bullet. I cannot believe it. I thought i would never get such high rating.

In past I was even struggling to maintain 1200. It feels like unbelievable achievement but at the same time it feels like i didn't deserve it. I didn't study chess. Only played and solved puzzles. Now i want to study endgames and finally improved my chess.

Good luck everyone in your chess journey. This game is insanely hard and addictive.

Well, it's a fact that you will get nervous when you start out your journey in bullet chess...

The adrenaline rush which you have built up trains your ability to sense moves very quickly. And it gives you that kind of mental workout which you will unlikely experience in standard control games. I use bullet games for many purposes - relaxation, the fun of fast-paced games and so on.

And it's because you have sharp calculation skills and some experience in bullet chess which have led you to quicker, more accurate fast moves and this brings you to where you stand today - that is, a 1700 rating in bullet. It's no easy feat. Congratulations!

so did I, but Bullet chess is just a nonsense, I soon realised that it's better to try and win on time than trying to checkmate, and so that's what I've done, I let my opponents get better positions as long as I'm ahead of time, the chess in general is terrible, even at 1700 level, I imagine it only starts to start resembling chess once you hit 2000 or something. One thing is for sure no beginner should be playing bullet, it's not good for your play whatsoever.

I am 77 and do bullet everyday for mental agility. My rating is around 1700 and proud of it.
