They use a bot that tells them what the best move is in any given position. (The "Learn --> Setup Position" section of this website is also used.)

Generally speaking: If your opponent takes like 5 minutes to make a move, then starts playing flawlessly, they're cheating. 100%.

They might have multiple tabs open, one with a strong engine on it, such as Komodo, alpha zero, stockfish, etc…

There is also multiple ways they can try to hide it, such as spending inconsistent time on each move, intentionally blundering pieces, resigning won games to reduce their win rate, and only using the engine enough to just barely beat the other person

If you are asking so you can cheat tho I wouldn’t recommend it xD
