How do team matches work?

I mean, do they involve a series of individual games between members of the two teams, or are they a collective endeavor like Vote Chess, or are the something different from these alternatives. Thanks

A pair of games between each member of the two teams.

Each time a new person signs up for a match, that team is resorted so that it is always displayed in strength (rating) order; the strongest on team A plays the strongest on team B, the 2nd strongest on team A plays the 2nd strongest on team B, and so on.

(A range of alternative policies is described here ... team-matches---level-playing-field-scheme).

Surprisingly, some groups (e.g. close-match) have adopted an alternative policy.

There are several related issues. e.g. what happens if there is a team match between two groups - and you are a member of both?

See participation-in-team-matches.

Thank you, Art, as always for the explanation.  As for the dilemma that you posed, being that I am my own worst enemy I often find myself starring across the board at myself.

I played in a match that just completed. Should it show up on my profile?

What happens when one team has a lot more players joined than the other? Then the players with the worst ranking does not get to play at all? (If I get the idea right, not everybody will have a matching player as a pair.) Or how is it decided who gets to play?

The lowest rated players on the team with more players don't play in that case.

Where is team match

Go to a club's homepage and click on the Daily Matches link. Then you'll see a list of open daily matches (if there are any at the moment). You can join the ones which allow your daily rating.
