how is this a draw?

Hi I just had a draw with an opponent who had ran out of time whilst I still had just under 3 mins on my clock. They had a knight a pawn and king whilst I had bishop king on the board. Can someone please explain , thanks.

FYI the game said draw by timeout…

Yes. You did not have enough material to force mate. That is a draw under the rules here.

You of course had enough material to force mate and if you played under FIDE rules you would win but chess.com rules are idiotic.

Please do show the sequence to force mate with only a bishop and a king

Yes under FIDE rules they'd have won but precisely not because of forced mate.
