They are common if your opponent is dumb

Its not rare at all. My real rating is only 1360 and ive had at least 3 or 4. The last time all it was was that I was otherwise about minus 4 but could sac rook to cause perpetual check with Q and in 3 moves could draw even the bot. I chose to play on. Instead since i was not playing a bot my human opponent messed up and i won. The move that wulda forced draw was scored brilliant. ๐Ÿ™„

It isnโ€™t that rare as all you do is a sacrifice that get you up material so it isnโ€™t that rare

They are not that rare and often not that brilliant. Many people have posted threads questioning why certain moves were seemed "brilliant".

In the game you played, your opponent, a 2295 rated player, seemingly got back close to even with his "brilliant" move, only to throw the game away a move later.

The game with computer analysis comments. Shows 21..Nd4 as a critical move (positive) followed by 22..Nb4 as a blunder, a critical mistake.

Tf you're talking about. The brilliant move is at 25 and the move at 21 is the best.

Hmmm, I do get brilliants every now and again, but on this game, I got back-to-back brilliant moves (moves 7 & 8). I understand the first one, but I am trying to figure out why the second one of the pair was brilliant. My next plan was that I was going to trade queens so I moved out my bishop (a miss) and then my opponent hung their Queen. Then opponent resigned. But I've never seen back-to-back brilliant moves before. Anyone know why the second move was brilliant?

Brilliant differs from your current elo, when you are lower the game reviewers bot stoops down to your level, anything that may seem brilliant to you will be brilliant to the reviews but when you are in a higher elo, it will be harder

I am a bit late to the party, but here you are:

Move 8 sacrifices a piece, then move 9 sacrifices the exchange, so you're now down a full rook. You can win back the rook by playing Nd7, attacking the queen on b8 and unleashing the g7 bishop, then play Bxb2. Instead, your queen trade offer is a horrible blunder, now you're down a rook for nothing.

That makes more sense because Iโ€™ve hit a lot of brilliant moves and Iโ€™m not rated highly. I had a notes page in my phone to track them but I stopped keeping count after 6. 3 of which I got in one day. It seems like I only get them from sacrificing material for a queen or for a positional advantage that leads to mate. Could also be the case that higher elos just protect their pieces enough that theyโ€™re less common at high level.ย
I got one yesterday when I sacced THE ROOK!
