losing games to my own bad play

yes you are right i guess -----but before when i tried 5 min and ten minutes games i would lose every one tonight i played a little better well more like i played players that played worse than me ---that's the truth not me winning the games as much as they would lose the games -- but i got to 281 which is the highest i have ever got so i just have to play looking better at the board from about move 15 on -- that's where trouble begins - about 15 move on - also i need to do puzzles more and try to scrap together the cost on membership here on this site so i can trouble shoot and analyze my games good and bad --- mind you i am on a low pension so i will have to see if i can afford it see you tomorrow at some point
monday morning going very badly as my play is less than stellar- even poor play on my part -- well try a couple of ten minute games to see what happens as was recommended from above posts -- maybe - its just i don't really know what to do when i see a dangerous move coming i have no counteraction that i know of i just try not to get taken but that is short sighted i know -- well try to take the middle board more with my pieces even if i have to lose just to see what happens -- they say to the middle is the key to everything-- ok lets see
well 10 min games where a flop and so where 5 min games -- lost all -- back to 3min games where i have about i figure a 25%/75% winning /losing rate better than 100 % losing rate - off to read a little now
You should play the longer timed games as you need the time to review the board. Look at your game. You pushed a pawn at about move 16 when you could have sacrificed a rook to win white's queen. Black rook takes white pawn, check, white king takes black rook, black bishop takes white queen. Forget your ratings for now and concentrate on learning the game.
20proc or more cheat on blitz so stop playing that
#3 at first you have to get used to it if you only played 3 min games before bc at first you probably won’t be using all your time, just consciously keep in mind that you need to use all your time. I’d suggest playing 15|10 games and trying to finish the game with under 5 mins left but 10 min games are ok too
thank-you for the advice -- that move at 16 you mentioned i didn't see it coming nor would i have had i had extra time i believe - but i will try a couple more longer timed games forcing myself to take longer time each move while everyone here said to forget about your score and learn to play the game that seems conflict with the sites premise - to get to the top of the mountain 2500 and up -- it a untenable dream but the dream the site pushes -- then need better tudor instruction at this site games where the opponent will be commenting on your play what you did wrong what you did right etc -- maybe a computer over site that gives advice to each side when they play -- to see tactics in real play -- iam just an old dog and new tricks come not that easily-- but i will try nothing left to do i guess
Tuesday morning more losses again down below 250 now the bottom is creeping up for me
bought chessmaster 9000 dvd from ebay yesterday thinking it would help but it won't play on my computer- said i need an older windows software to run it -- nothing seems to be going right with learning this game-- wasted money -- not alot just 10 dollars but still the same that was ten dollars i could have used to get a premium membership oh well -- need to do some yard work for an hour or so -- then i will be back at -- its Tuesday and maybe my lotto ticket will get lucky --one came dream at least
Play the bots here on chess.com - you can turn on hints, take backs, etc.
yes i have done that and it is informative for sure -- guess i will try a little more of those-- after chores where done i have gotten myself back over 250 just barely mind you but will try a few of those bots things now-- till lunch
well i played the bots with full help and it was interesting to say the least -- will try again against the bots later and see what else it shows me --- now a few games before my shows come on
well played pretty badly on a couple of games but stayed the same at 253 so even though i played poorly i at least stayed the same time to go for the night maybe later if sleep does not go well for me ---------

well i don't want to complain - so i just make my own criticism of myself -- i losing alot now to hit and run tactics -- within five moves the game is over --- now i know these are legal tactics just i can't stop them and still get my opening setup to defend the way i want to -- so they come and swoop in and get me check mated -- my question is this if move up to higher time periods will this kind of play stop ?? - will i at least the game started instead of being over before i get going - i play to play the game all 3 minutes -- not 20 seconds or 25 seconds which seems to be what ia happening before i lose -- 2 minutes i fine with losing at -- even one min into the game but less than 30 seconds is a waste of time for me to play and think the game through ---- if go up will this sort play ease off -- or i am stuck with these kind of players ------ any thoughts ??????????????????????
constant bad play on my part losing a few games tonight dropping even further down -- yeps !!!!!!!!- think i will go back to my old play opening to see if that helps -- need to get a couple wins to stop the slide to the bottom of the pit (100) as long as i don't play those hit and run players queen and bishop guys -- maybe i can turn it around
well constant bad play by others this time has led ne to be almost 300 i can't believe that -- i play just the same poorly yet i have won a few games -- mostly luck i believe -- but this afternoon i will see if it continues or will i slump back down again --my old opening seems to be working better so i will keep going with it -- till it doesn't see you later this afternoon
Its a struggle sometimes. Peaks and valleys. Just try for some fun. Quicker time controls mean more mistakes for both players and more risk/reward play. Longer games usually mean fewer more painful mistakes.
yes you are right except about the fun part chess is not fun its addition just like coke or booze
knew the streak wouldn't last----- back down to 250 again peaks and valleys is sure right my friend never a upward climb without a fall from the rock face-- i seem to go in patterns five wins then 6 losses all in row --strange very strange -- my play is back to as before after move 6/7 i seem to fall apart --- or i know i have him/her one or the other --- hummmmmmmmmm
well monday morning turning into losing session under 240 now and slipping fast to the bottom i notice when i play mornings i seem to not get going till third game in concertation so i am always in the hole till i win a couple -- today i just stopped after three losses in row and decided to take my lumps and play a bot for while maybe as morning goes on things will change maybe not --- its monday mind you - not my best day
no use in complaining its i am playing better people than before and i just lose making too quick decisions in a 3 min games
