Bro I deeply encourage you to watch chessbrah aman's habit series. There is the short version and the extended, non edited raw version which are like 2 hours each. He makes chess simple(I'm an idiot and chess.com lessons were so hard to me) and play games from the lowest ratings. Watching this series AND spamming 5min blitz game made chess so fun to me. I'm 650 elo now!
losing games to my own bad play
sorry i have been off for a bit due to medical issues that prevented me from playing or posting -- things are better now so back at it at least a little that is-- new meds are a little heavier now than before so less time at the board i think -- thanks asxriller i will view those videos and see what sinks in
so tonight went better than expected three wins in a row a first in a long time for that -- but starting to feel the meds kick in so off to watch tv till i fall asleep watching the new megatropolis movie by coppala - i won't make the end
well as luck would have it again won a couple of games in row on tuesday night now couple losses in row as of wed afternoon luck comes luck goes i guess - movie last night was quite challenging to watch very complicated - but visually quite impressive i give a 50/50 rating and i made it the end awake so thats a major thing with these new meds -- i will try to look up these videos posted on top here chessbrah hope they are enticing for me to stay engaged
wed night another bunch of losses in a row(no luck tonight that's for sure ) -- just can;t seem to see the moves that box me in before they happen and when i do see them and make another move that move gets me in even more trouble than the original move --- my god it pointless trying to figure this out

Chessbrah - building habits is an incredible series for a learner. Strong recommendation.
i tried it but maybe i am going to the wrong series as it was not very good at explaining really what to do -- more tactics sort of thing -- is there two different series i need how to play to win or at least how to get to move 35 without losing my queen or get boxed in -- like a "a do this b do this c do this kind of instruction --- maybe iam missing the point will try again after lesson four i am a bit lost ---
thursday afternoon won three games ---just by luck i think and lost four in a row not by luck got boxed in more than once -- will try one or two games before i quit for this afternnoon
friday morning three win two losses -- oh boy round and round we go up down 100 108 100 again and again --- try again after lunch and meds taking see what happens for a couple of games
thx i will give a try different one than i saw before
tried gothamchess watched about three videos lots of games he explains and very well i might add
only problem that i now know is coming forward in my chess adventure -- i can't see three four moves in advance like most others do thats why i set myself up to blunder i can see one move ahead maybe two but thats it -- so i can never implement those moves to set up of others to get into position to make an attack which gothan chess guy seems to stress alot -- any plan i put into place after the second move is always mute cause the other guy sees it coming and changes direction etc so then i am usually left voidable to any movement and always blunder trying to retreat-- -- can this seeing ahead thing be taught or as many have said you either have it or you don't ------ things to ponder
enough losses for a afternoon need to work on something else before my brain gets to depressed --- 15 losses in row is quite enough for a afternoon --
trying something new after watching a couple of videos today from chessbrah about trying to control the centre in the beginning well some slight success with it but still not a single win in many or any games tonight --still i will keep trying that about controlling the centre four squares and protecting those pawns -- see what happens -- time for my one only beer i get on the weekends -- and sit and watch a movie till the meds kick in -- see you tomorow
Ssat morning only one win game only losses -- five in a row on each side of the win time to watch a video again
thx i will give a try different one than i saw before

I can assure you, the problem is not about seeing 3 moves in the future. The problem youre having is that you dont make sure your piece can't be captured on the next turn after your move. If you focus on that your rating will improve. Don't even worry about any future moves for now, just the very next one you can't miss.
I agree that the most important thing is looking one move ahead, to consider your opponent's best response(s).
Often, this is enough to prevent most blunders (or at least to minimize them).
I'm a 2500 blitz player, and I rarely look ahead more than 1 or 2 moves. For one, there generally isn't enough time to do this in blitz (except only once or twice per game, if it's absolutely crucial). For another, if you're needing to look even farther ahead, it probably means you're making things more complicated than they need to be.
So the advice to look 3 or 4 moves ahead is not necessary, IMO. Certainly not in blitz.
The important thing is to always try to consider your opponent's best response (or responses) to the move (or the moves) that you are planning to make. And to see if your position remains playable, after that.
Sometimes you'll still lose from a long sequence that you missed. But that's okay - as long as you review the game afterward and learn what you can from it.
sunday afternoon before meds kick in did extremely badly 20 games in row lost --will watch rest of chessbrah video till i knod off maybe after nap will play better
after watching 1.5 hours of videos on chess -- thought something would help but well its the same old thing --- couple losses before i stop for the evening -- bringing the dead count today to over 25 loses in a row worse it been ever while you apply what one guy says to do another offers a different approach -- but when applied in real games neither approaches get me any further ahead -- iam looking to get to 40 moves in avg game -- but none of my opponents seem to complies to action and so i get all screwed up after about 7 moves maybe if i am lucky 10 moves nothing ever goes to plan not a single game today -- hummmmmmmmm-- so frustrating -- so maybe i should try a completely new thinking pushing anything forward random strategy just to see if that gets me to 40 moves -- yes will try that the lessons don't seem to be working even thought i study them closely sometimes repeating chessbras lesson a couple times seeing they will work ---so here i go with just piece anypiece forward and see what happens
FRIDAY NIGHT won couple of games lost one --but i feel very sleepy tonight so will quit while iam ahead -- that doesn't happen very often so good night
