MENGARINI / FRENCH WING GAMBIT PLAYERS ?
I have never faced the Mengarini Gambit before.
I have faced the Sicilian Wing Gambit.
Do you play that line as well?

What happens if an opponent plays g6.
Are you going to sac your Rook or play something different?

no I play Nc3 Bc4 d3 and then f4 or h4 depending on what black does
it's not as great compared to when they play Nc6 and accept the gambit but you just get an equal position

I gave up playing this opening. with Nc6 by Black, it can be good.
But if they know the right moves, it fails. And above 1900 on Rapid, and 1750 on Blitz they DO know

well you might not get a quick win but you just get an equal position then, it's not like this is losing by force
Some pretty shady account in this thread to be honest! sad.
Huh? I cannot see a single weird comment in this thread.
Unless I blocked some people a while back, and I cant see them any more.
Just play Snyder
with the Synder, black players can see the attack coming and nullify it
2000 plus elo in rapid and blitz and have issue complete 1800 puzzle. Cant get pass 24 mark in puzzle rush 5min. Thats is extremly shady.
Let me tell you, as someone who has played about 20,000 games on here, puzzles arent really that important. The puzzles almost never show end games, or openings, where the goal is just to get a single pawn advantage, or pushed forward
Not sure who on here you're accusing of being "shady" but I certainly hope it's not me. Good luck with your chess. I suggest you learn an opening repertoire. It takes a lot of time and hard work
Puzzles are fine to test your alertness and level of concentration. You won't get better at chess . Trust me, I've played over 20 ,000 games on here and have much higher rating than you
So What's a good score at Puzzle rush? It's just a silly practice game. Means nothing I already tried to explain that to you.. Puzzles are NOT real chess. they're just testing your ability to find a checkmate quickly from a position that you didn't even build from the start of the game. To actually get good at the game, learn OPENINGS, pawn structures, difference between open and closed positions, how to set up knight outposts, using a bishop pair, the difference between a good/bad bishop..
Mengarini (1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 e6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nc6 5.Nc3 e5):
- Focus on rapid development, especially your knights and bishop.
- Try to control the d5 square, crucial for central dominance.
- Be prepared to adapt to Black's counterplay on the queenside.
- Consider pawn breaks on the kingside (f4) or queenside (c4) to create imbalances.
Mengarini is a3 on the 2nd move
