Middlegame

In the forums here I have seen discussion of books on endings and openings but almost nothing on the middlegame. I will start one by saying my favorite middlegame books are the two volumes on the Middlegame by Euwe and Vuckovic's - The Art of Attack    Your favorites?

IndridCold
Yeah, it's interesting that the middlegame doesn't seem to get as much attention. Modern Chess Strategy by Pachman and Amatuer's Mind by Silman both helped me quite a bit.

Amatuer's Mind is probably my personal favorite so far.  Very very comprehensible, and a good reminder with a "to-do" list for nearly all ratings.  The title is a little misleading, because it helps hone the skills of professionals as well.

My strategy is approaching the game like Capablanca did in his youth--no books at all! Muahhahahahaa! (So far-no good Cool)

The no books method works fine if you have the natural talent/genius of a Capablanca !  Do you?

Reb, I just picked up those three books on a sale, can't wait to digg in to them.
TheOldReb
Wow !  You found Euwe's books?  They are usually hard to find, lucky you !

Alibris.com is the place to go for somewhat obscure books. Usually prices range from low to high but I have always been able to find the books I was lookin for

Personally I have very much enjoyed Pachman's "Modern Chess Strategy", Silman's "The amateur's mind", and Heisman's "Elements of positional evaluation"

I've got vukovic's art of attack in the mail and I'm looking forward to digging into it!
