new opening vs e4?

I am an intermediate (I would like to say I play at a 1600 level) player and I need to a new response to e4 as black. I hate French, Pirc, scandi and basically everything except caro and Sicilian. I also don’t want to go into complications with e5. I know Sicilian is very theoretical but would you recommend studying it? And if so what variation? I am also prepping Grunfeld vs d4 because intermediates don’t know how to respond. I have dabbled in tournaments and I really need a bit more opening choice.
