Well, if you are implying that Magnus should be the world champion, then you are just wrong.
It was his decision to withdraw, you can't twist his arm and force him to play anyway.
No, I am not implying that Magnus Carlsen should be the world champion. I am implying that him being active as a chess player devalues the current title of a world champion that Gukesh just obtained. I though that was pretty obvious in my OP. But then you called me "Captain Obvious."
Ok, it is obvious, but people had to hear it to start downvoting me :-)
Gukesh was clearly the player of the year 2024. He played extremely well throughout the whole year, especially in the Olympiad. (Where he had a much-much better performance than Magnus).
If there ever was a deserving World Champion, it's Gukesh.
I am not sure I agree. Unfortunately, Magnus Carlsen just won't let us know who's right.
