Problem Unique to Chess.com

This is the third time in 3 years I've had to write about this xD. - Chess.com please for the love of god fix your server disconnection issues. It is not on my end, every other chess site I've used, this does not happen, I only keep using this one cos it's still the best designed in terms of look and I prefer your rating system but my god, the amount of times I've been winning a great tough game, only to be told suddenly, you disconnectd 5 minutes ago so you lose.

After discussing with a few people and watching stuff online it seems to be a problem unique to people in the UK, still no excuse man, this still happens. How much money do yous take in a year? - And you still have not fully addressed this, unreal. Happy New Year .

Hi @NasoRomano97,

I understand your frustration—there’s nothing worse than being in the middle of a hard-fought game, only to have it ruined by technical issues. Connection problems like the one you’ve described can definitely sour the experience, especially if it results in an undeserved loss.

If this issue is indeed more prevalent in the UK, it might be worth reaching out to Chess.com’s support team with detailed feedback, including your ISP and connection logs. They may be able to look into the routing or server issues that could be causing these disconnections. Sometimes, such problems stem from regional server configurations or third-party network intermediaries.

In the meantime, you could try running a connection test (like a ping or traceroute) to Chess.com’s servers to see if there’s any noticeable latency or packet loss during your games. Using a VPN could also be a temporary workaround to see if a different route to the servers reduces the disconnection issue.

Hopefully, Chess.com will take note of your feedback and work to address this. Your loyalty to the platform despite these challenges speaks volumes about its strengths, but I agree—this is an issue worth fixing for everyone.

Happy New Year to you as well, and best of luck with your future games!

Alternatively move to Aussie 😀. Just a suggestion, no issues here.

Thanks for the in depth response! I'll maybe try some of these fixes once I've cooled down haha
