To play an odds game, your opponent must be on your friend list - you cannot play against a random member
If that is the case how did that happen, he is not on my friends list.

I'm not sure that part is actually true. Any unrated game can be an odds game.

Any unrated game can be odds. I don’t exactly remember how to turn it off
This might not link to anything, but the opponent’s username has the word HACKER in it. It might not mean anything, but still.
