Background:
I am an unrated player. I joined my first fide rated tournament recently. Throughout the same, I played against only ONE fide rated player, and unfortunately lost the game. I won a couple of games against other unrated players though.
According to the Fide handbook clause 8.2.1: “If an unrated player scores zero in their first event this score is disregarded. Otherwise, their rating is calculated using all their results as in 7.1.4.”
My question:
1. Does the rule mean that my lost against the rated player in the first tournament will not be counted in my initial rating calculation, despite I won some games against unrated players?
2. What if I lose to all rated player again in my next tournament? Will it be counted?
Thanks you all in advance!
That is correct, since you didn't get at least half a point against a FIDE rated player, it doesn't count.
