Should there be an anime about chess?

I liked Chihayafuru. It's about the Japanese game, karuta. It's not exactly amazing but it was not a waste of time; which is a nice compliment given the quality of other animes. I can definitely see the exaggerated hand strokes and fluttering hair while the protagonist commences a 13-move mate in a do-or-die match of a blitz tournament.

This "anime short" is maybe the best we got so far

I don't think chess+anime would be a good combination. At least in pokemon you have theft, exorcism, etc.

I mean why not seems like a good idea. I did see like a yt vid of a Animated chess video that introduces all the pieces.
