The main reason to decline rematches. FEAR

Bro must have lost to someone, asked for a rematch, got declined, raged, and posted this lol. In all seriousness, in my opinion, you improve your chess better when you play people who are better than you. Rematching against someone you absolutely demolished and is clearly worse than you does not benefit you. Also, when you ask for a rematch after a loss, you come across as salty, and if you ask for a rematch after win, you come across as an arrogant jerk.

Ah, the rematch dilemma—where chess meets the Wild West. 🤠 While I agree a single game rarely tells the full story, calling everyone a coward might be… a bit harsh. Maybe they’re just secretly celebrating their 'mouse slip victory' like it’s a World Championship title. 🏆

But seriously, the 'Best of 3' idea could be brilliant for those who enjoy the challenge. It’s like a mini-match: win, adapt, and prove your mettle. Plus, it takes some pressure off those gut-wrenching, last-minute time scrambles. One game is luck. Two games is a coincidence. Three games? That’s a duel.

That said, let’s also cut some folks some slack. Not everyone declines rematches out of fear—sometimes they genuinely don’t have time to engage in an epic trilogy (even if that sounds way cooler). And hey, chess is fun, but there’s nothing wrong with throwing in a bit of competitive fire.

So, let’s meet in the middle: if you win by time scramble or a lucky blunder, take the rematch. Give your opponent a shot at redemption. Who knows? You might win again and earn your bragging rights—or you might get humbled and walk away knowing you played an honest fight.

After all, chess is a game of courage and respect, so let’s show a little of both.

That's about right.

Most of the rematch offers I get are from people who tried to do Scholar's Mate (or some sort of Wayward Queen attack) and got absolutely destroyed after blundering their queen.

I've been asked for a rematch after losing a couple of times as well. Most of the time, I accept it and then absolutely smoke them the second time around. And when that happens, suddenly they don't want a rematch anymore. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I mean, it's better more your chess to play against a variety of people, some people don't have the time to rematch somebody 3 times. And if you do, you could have potentially not played a very intuitive game with many learning opprotunities because you are rematching someone.

I like to accept rematches, but I very rarely offer them. But the main reason I accept rematches is just so the score thingy beside your name shows up, and I like that because then you can keep track of your score in the games you've played.

And especially against a stronger player, I have more of a chance to offer a rematch since I can learn more from it.

But who says that you are a coward if you don't accept it?

Lets say I faced someone and was about to get mated in 1 but won on time and I think he is a cheater, and he offers me a rematch. Of course I won't accept! If he is a cheater why should I go against him again and possibly lose even when he isn't playing fair?

Bro's about to come on here like:

🤓: Um, actually, the fact you think he's a cheater shows you're scared.

Lol

He's getting jumped in his own thread, wild.

Funny how that is when your opinion is unpopular for a reason.

AlekhineEnthusiast46

He was "from" Jamaica, talked about the exact same thing and got banned recently. That's him, alright. He is just "from" Britain now.
