Use this test to get an estimate of your Elo rating !
is 3600 Elo good for a newborn baby
why did mods remove the link though. is this knowledge of your Elo estimate harmful somehow?
Rating estimation was a standard feature in many chess programs, including famous Chessmaster series. In some versions it was puzzles, in 4000 (screenshot below), you had to follow a historical game and propose key moves, good alternative moves also counted and attempt count affected the final score. But the answer was your Elo, not some mysterious bloated puzzle rating but something quite realistic.
Not only Chessmaster had this.
And also there were rated games in some games and in some versions of Chessmaster (each engine profile was precisely rated). No takebacks, no hints, and outcome affected your rating, you had charts, you had ratings in different time control categories, you could do single matches or tournaments. Chess games were so much better back then. They even simulated touch-move rule! And the graphics was better, maybe pixelated but much nicer than today. And the knight animation was following the L-shape, a small thing but it shows great attention to the detail.
