What the heck, how am i in the LEGENDS LEAGUE. Legend am i certainly NOT.

Chess.com somehow "rewarded" me for my awfulness. if someone can please make sense of this i'd love to get comments/an explanation.

as far as i know, i only do Rapid (always 10 minutes +0) and puzzles. i don't even know what bullet means.

my puzzle rating is 1722, and my rapid rating is a miserable 959. all time since about 2020 i've played 4,600 games. my highest rank ever was an unimpressive 1277 back in October 2023. so since then, i've lost over 300 elo or whatever. and just two days ago, i got into the "Legends League".

i guess my questions is:

for the past few months in whatever league was before "legends" was i just playing harder opponents? have i been playing harder opponents and that's why my rating dropped, or am i legit just getting worse.

The leagues shouldn't be taken seriously. You get points for winning games, and that's it.

It doesn't matter if you play well. You just have to play a lot in one week.

i've never followed the leagues or anything, just knew they existed at some basic level, but figured they'd set SOME sort of bar for "legends".

that's pretty lame, i'm going back to just ignoring it while merrily blundering my queen to other players with a 950 rating.

The idea is that it’s not about how good you are but also how committed to the game you are by playing a lot
