When you know it's time to quit chess
How does rapid help you improve at blitz? That sounds dumb.
I hate this game, I hate how miserable it makes you. I also feel like I am wasting my life away playing a game that actually makes me pizzed off for hours on end.
There are only two valid reasons for playing chess: 1) playing it at a competitive, high level ( this is not our case ); or 2) derive satisfaction, interest, or enjoyment from it. Surely, insisting on playing chess without results, or without getting pleasure from it ( for amateurs like us ), is a useless, colossal, stupid waste of time.
The question for you, as for all those who, as you say, are thinking of quitting, is always the same : do you like playing chess or not ? Answer, and decide accordingly.
( Just my opinion )
Maybe stop tilting and start improving?
Just because you blunder your queen and rook and then lose on time down a rook, you can’t say that was just your opponent’s luck. You can’t control time, so go play daily games if you don’t like blitz

I am not thinking, I have quit.
I bet there are lots of people out there who think about quitting. I started playing chess when I was 8, it's always seemed like a fun game and I have enjoyed playing it, on and off for 50+ years, but since coming here to chess.com and playing live chess, like blitz, it has made me hate the game. When you constantly lose on time when you are many pieces up is f annoying. The amount of times when I am 1 move away from checkmate and lost on time.
I wanted to reach 1000 on blitz, but it's never going to happen, no matter how much I practice and if I was honest, I don't even care anymore, because I hate this game, I hate how miserable it makes you. I also feel like I am wasting my life away playing a game that actually makes me pizzed off for hours on end.
I think today is the time to quit chess.
