same side as your opponent
Which side castling is safer?
It depends on the situation. If your opponent has heavy pieces lined up with the queen pointing at the queenside, then it's probably not wise to castle on that side.
I just wanna ask this that if we castle short is the king safer or if we castle long is the king safer?. I personally think that castling short is safer, but still I wanna ask this to know that if there is any like certain weaknesses or advantages in long/short castling. Which side castling is better ?
It also depends on pawn structure as well. White wishes to castle on either side, but which side has a better pawn structure?

Yeah, I understand in certain cases we need to adjust according to pawn structure and also the position. In this case long castling is better.
Castling on the same side of the board where you are concentrating the bulk of your Army is safer. Your King belongs BEHIND your own attack, not IN FRONT OF the opponent's attack.
But blueemu...what if we are attacking using open lines? For eg G and H files..then the king will take up the space of our rooks
If you are advancing your g- and h-Pawns, with your army gathered behind them, where would your King feel safer? On f2 surrounded by your own army? Or on b1, with Black's army pouring down the Q-side?
I tend to just leave my King in the center and use it as a Matador's Cloak to entice enemy pieces out of position... but maybe that's just me...
Quick offensive rooks are safer than castling too late. The rule of thumb is king side castle is only safe before the 9th turn, and queen side castle is only safe before the 12th turn. It is extremely positional after that point, so cannot be generalized. There's always exceptions to any generalization.
