Definitely didn't read the blog

Nobody knows. The only people who we know it isn't is Levy Rozman, Anatoly Karpov, Anthony Levin, and masters who don't speak Spanish.

fpawn

Obvious he is an enigma.

There are some people that we can rule out based upon body-type and height, but nobody has definitively pinned it on anyone. It can be anyone with sort of a medium build who is probably in their 20s or 30s, who is at least FM strength, and who is fluent in Spanish, though not necessarily from Spain.

I suppose if someone really wanted to, they could create a list of possible players, start crossing off people based upon physical characteristics, then go through the person's games comparing repertoires, and then narrow it down to a handful of people.... but ain't nobody got time for that.

That voice is obviously so distinctive - I think it's probably faking it by raising it an octave or two to help conceal identity.

I honestly don't care to know - I think it's fun!

He's really good at OTB speed chess.  I wonder what his rating would be in classic.

I know a Russian guy here on chess.com here's 2800+ blitz in here and he is a CM titled player.

Also another well known Russian player JUST NM titled , which having a rating 2500 + FIDE in ALL formats ! And 3000+ blitz in here .

So I'm really confused about Rey Enigma here, some people say he is a GM ,  but he might be just a CM something like that .

Just watched a clip with him playing the chessqueen and I heard his voice at the end. Speaking in English unedited he sounds just Anish Giri.

brocos

His accent is definitely Spanish but I don't have a clue about who he is.

JohnNapierSanDiego

I heard a rumor that it's actually Elvis Presley back from the dead... That he's doomed to walk the Earth due to all that devil's music he wrote, and that he had to learn Spanish and stuff, and now he plays chess games... and stuff

FearsomeKnight88

Rey Enigma's profile says he's from The Isle Of Man.
