Why do you love chess?

I love it cuz of the puzzle tatics

Yeah, they are really fun.

For me, its the combination of a lot of things which include but aren't limited to...

- Its an activity that requires wits, intelligence, and strategizing to win.
- the intricately flawless framework its bound to on a 8 x 8 constraint in which the combination of setups and patterns one can choose to use are endless.
- its a fair activity in that every party involved is bound to the same rules and moveset, where winning feels amazing and losing is a learning experience.

It's shown people who play Chess are smarter with an increase in IQ. You love it because it makes you superior, obviously.

I love it because there is no luck involved (unless your opponent just blunders, then you are lucky I suppose).  Even a low rated player like me may see a an attack that is really hard to stop and when it works it just feels good to have a plan come to fruition.  Chess is also just good brain exercise, I think.

Because you can outwit people. It's the best when you enter the mind of your opponent and predict his crucial moves - so when he or she indeed plays them, you have an instant response ready. Make them chase the invisible carrot.

Also it's just the best game ever invented and there's something timeless to having a chessboard around, preferably next to a bottle of John Daniels.

I'm not sure I actually "love" it. I'm addicted to the competition and to the challenge of improving. What I do love is communicating casually with opponents from other countries. I often use an on line translator and send them a message in their language, hoping it brightens their day, which often stimulates an interesting conversation.

I like chess because I can't get the rush of being close to winning in a sports game. My body is not as capable as my mind is. I only feel rush while there are 10 seconds left in a chess game.

Because it is a great tactical game (Sport).

mm, I am a 10 years boy Siddharth from Maharastra. i love chess because of it gives me happiness. in first couple of days in chess.com i thought that is is a game of fun. i agree that it is but i played in normal mood. when i was new my rating was 800 in rapid but it take me time to understand the game i play some game and what! my rating (elo) is 289 than i asked my meternal uncle that what it is than my uncle told me how to play than i liked chess from than i play rapid,blitz,bullet games my rapid rating is now 678 blitz 675 and bullet 805 in bulled also it was 100. in my school there is a anual chess compitition i am the 1st 5th std chess player.

It's a love-hate relationship.

Because it’s amazing, beautiful,royal game. You will not believe but I think It’s one a kind of literature.

I consider it the ultimate game....complex, sophisticated, elegant, etc. But when I play, I'm not sure if it was created by God or by Satan. And I'm not sure if I love it or hate it.
