Why is lichess faster running site than chess. Com

Playing Bullet on lichess the moves register within milliseconds on here you're lucky if it's maybe 1.5 - 2 seconds per move, shouldn't a site making millions each year from members be faster than a site that's completely free?

and yet somehow, despite this, you were able to play and win more than 8,000 bullet games here?

Perhaps your connection is bad tonight.

have you read about the huge efforts chess.com is making to improve its handling of live connections all over the world?

So my Internet connection is bad on here but works fine on lichess? , I do appreciate the sites effort but the manipulation of time in bullet is quite suss if I'm being perfectly honest especially against diamond members, the fact if you play unrated games the lag is non existent would lead me to believe there is definitely something up.

The site is slow because there are a lot of chess.com a-lickers on here, which is what slows down the speed with all that licking.

Do you understand how connecting to the internet and web servers works? Chess.com and Lichess use different web servers in different parts of the world. You can't compare apples and oranges. Just because you connect better to Lichess doesn't mean that Chess.com is falling behind. They use different servers. Not to mention that Chess.com hosts much more players than Lichess.

So why does it run faster if the games are unrated surely if its my Internet connection then it would lag the same like in the rated games?

simple. lichess has, what, four users? lot easier to deal with lag at that level

To be honest as much as I love chess. Com, gotta admit lichess has some pretty cool features but it's layout sucks, anyway I think it is just my Internet connection and it's not some personal vendetta against me that makes me lag, it is a pretty old tablet I play on so is what it is.
