Why wasn’t my elo refunded?

  Two weeks ago I played against a cheater but my elo wasn’t refunded. Why wasn’t it? Their account is closed for fair play btw

There are limitations in when refunds are granted. For example, if there were too many games between your game and the closure then a refund isn't given, as your current rating will be close to where it would have been had you not played the account and lost.

It's also possible they were closed for a rating pool different than the game you played them in.

I don't think it is your games that count, but the cheater's games.

U know there's a limit on how many games back it goes for the closed account but I believe it also depends on how many games their opponents played since.

The article in refunds used to have additional information that's not included anymore.

If your opponent played more than 100 games after your game, you get no refund. The refund is just a token gesture. In the long run, it has no effect on your rating.
