App just caused me to lose on timeout by not playing the opponent's move

Let me preface this by saying this is not the first or even second time this has happened. I was playing a normal game on the iPad app and after I played a move, it appeared like my opponent had either abandoned or was taking all of their time to play their move. Their clock was running and everything appeared like it was their turn. Then all of a sudden I lose on time instead without warning. I know for a fact it was not my internet connection either because 1. The connection indicator was full and 2. My opponent actually sent a message which caused me to restart the app which finally made their move go through and showed I was down to just 20 seconds.

Again, this is not the first time I have lost because of this and it's infuriating.
