Chat Disabled Seemingly Out of Nowhere

Not an expert on the mechanics of the site by any means but my in game chat function has been completely disabled for seemingly no reason in particular. I'm definitely active and I can still post on the forum. I definitely haven't been restricted. I've tried logging in and out. What's my recourse here? 

If your opponent has chat disabled, which a lot of users do, you won't be able to chat in game.

This happened in a bunch of games in a row, which makes it seem hard pressed in be a coincidence.

Same thing happened to me. Definitely not because opponents have muted. There is some glitch going on, and there is no meaningful way to get in touch with an actual human on this website, only useless AI...

Same problem for me... I can't use the chat in classed game.
I checked my parameters, all are enabling chat function.
So it let 2 options :
- Bug
- Or a have been reported for abuse in chat. However, i only use the chat to only "gg" in rare time... Does reporting isn't checked by someone ?

Ha, I was just coming looking for answers on this, chat's been disabled for a couple days now, no bans, no altered privacy settings... like above, all I usually do is 'gg' and move on, but, yea, it's been a couple days now of chat disabled for dozens, if not hundreds of bullet chess games, so I can't imagine every single one has been muted.

I am experiencing the same thing. Haven't used the chat function in forever but seemingly disabled out of nowhere.

This happened to me too dunno why but a few days later it fixed itself so just be patient.

Same. In addition the chat for observing games has also been disabled for me. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing as chess.com chat is undesirable imo.

I just ran into this issue today. I didn't get a message saying it was temporarily restricted or anything, and it doesn't seem to be disabled in the unique chess modes either. Is this a bug?

Same thing happened to me. I sent a message but can’t see it, and can’t see the opponents’ as well.

I'm experiencing the same thing. Could this be a poorly implemented update to more easily identify bots?

And I would like to add that the "support"-bot was a horrible experience. I left feeling I had been muted, and that there was no way for me to find out why it had happened. When on the contrary non of us were, and it was just a poorly released update.

Same here. I used to be edgy a year or two on another account, but on this one I occasionally use smiley face to nudge someone

Reporting back here -- mine just got fixed outta nowhere. No message from admins, no nothin. Working again as mysteriously as it stopped a few days ago...

Found out there was a new update and that caused the issue. Staff rolled that back until the big gets fixed.
