Come on, guys, can somebody from chess.com administration respond? It's really frustrating, and why does that option in settings even exist while both work always?
How to disable the click to move function?
I'm going to even bump this. Why give us an option to pick drag or click, when both work at the same time regardless?
That just leads to so many mouse slips. You take some piece, then you change your mind (piece is still selected). You want to unclick it aaaaaand, congrats, you moved it and probably you blundered.
Just lost another game because of an accidental move. Please! WHY PUT A DROPDOWN TO PICK WHEN IT DOES NOTHING?!?!
Just want to chime in and say it's ridiculous to have an option to select one of the two that literally changes nothing.
The problem with click to move is that coming from basically every other game or application we are used to click outside the selected thing to deselect it. If you try this here you move your pieces by accident.
Also I am fully aware that this is a problem caused by myself, but seeing a lot of other people also have this problem I cannot fully comprehend why there is no simple fix for this problem.
(Also cancelled my subscription because of this, maybe they'll finally do something about it..)
Bump.

is there any reason behind it which i dont get to not allow the player to use the not existing move option "drag an drop - only".
I mean in the original board game you take a piece and you grab it with your little fingers [now the important part] you hold on to that piece - you dont want to let it go immediately after you grabed it. You first want to hold it. With a gentle but secure grip and place it all along to the square you want it to be. I know sounds totally insane but when you watch the GMs closely in live events you can whitness this rare occasion
