How to disable the click to move function?

It's like they started to think of this years ago and gave the option, but then decided it created more bugs so they bypassed the option, but also didn't want to spend any time removing the now-defunct "option". So here we sit. Frustrated with a selection between two styles that does nothing.

We're still waiting for their response about the plugin. Also It looks like it can be nearly impossible to do in live chess... It works  fine on the bots or analysis board, but live is something completely different.

Finally had one too many blunders because of this and decided to go looking for a solution. Sad to see that the community is resorting to browser extensions rather than chess.com supporting this officially. Why should I stick with a platform that ignores issues like this in favor of more flashy features? Completely out of touch.

The_Vorpal_Blade

I'll join the pleading. Please have an option to disable click to move.

Murmis

Bump. It is so infuriating to play the whole game, and then lose on missclick. I can lose all fine by myself. Don't need any help from missclicks.

This doesnt make any sense. Not renewing my subscription if it stays this way. Must be pretty easy to implement too.

FFS, if you don't have someone on your team skilled enough to fix this issue, just DM me and I'll fix it for you.

They do have the option.  The problem is that it doesn't work.

They go into lengthy explanations that it does work, though. They don't seem to realise that what it does, is not what it is supposed to. It only changes the 'snap' behaviour, and not the move method at all.

From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to address my sincerest thank you to all staff members of the chess.com team.
You guys have now set a new record for crappy service and it truly deserves applause as you guys have demonstrated true dedication to being the worst over and over.
I apologize for showing signs of impatience earlier this year as I understand only now that you were striving for being this bad and not caring. This is hands on the worst site I've ever been a member of, and you can congratulate yourselves for reaching this tremendous achievement.
Also, as I am fascinated by the time you guys spend censoring other websites rather than actually working on a subject that has now been open for 6 and a half year, I thought I'd give you some additional chance to prove how crappy you are and formally invite everyone to cancel their membership and migrate to better websites such as

L / I / C / H / E / S / S / . / O / R / G

Or

C / H / E / S / S / 2 / 4 / . / C / O / M

@Chnaps

I'd like to buy you a beer.

Hey, guys, I'm monitoring this talk over 2 months now and I have to say : IT HAS NO SENSE BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT READING THIS. EVER.
The only thing that can make them to do something, in my opinion, would be VIRAL video of cuts from this thread and published either on "Daily Dose of Chess" or something similar. Any other ideas ?

nah

I think its drag
