I have IE6 in a virtual machine for development testing purposes. It's a WinXP fully patched with IE6 SP2, or whatever they say it is...

No weird behaviour at all. I am able to log in and log out normally.

I have a Win2K VM with IE6, haven't tested it with chess.com yet but recommend installing MSVPC.

i use multipleIE, but i just want to hear from regular users of IE6 if they have problems :)

Nope, no problems here.  I like IE6 better than the other versions out there because it's been pretty stable.

I have the latest version of IE.  I don't know what number that is.  Since a day ago I have gotten a popup saying "this page contains secure and non-secure items."  It doesn't prevent me from logging in successfully.  Question:  Is your site better suited to Firefox browser?

I have IE 6.0.2800.1106 with Win98 and after I log-in I always get the pop-up box saying- "Security Alert.  You are about to be redirected to a connection that is not secure.  The information you are sending to the current site might be retransmitted to a nonsecure site.  Do you wish to continue? yes/No".  I click "yes" and get no more suprise pop-up boxes after that.

I haven't seen the message on any other sites that I can remember visiting lately. The message doesn't bother me as I have all the security updates from Microsoft and I don't have Social Security # or credit card numbers on my computer.  But, perhaps, some new members logging in and seeing the warning might be scared off from continuing after reading the warning as to me it implies a Hacker may be trying to get my computer info.

I'm using IE 6 but no problems so far. Apart from sometimes not being able to update my game because the PGN gets mutilated with a *.

Looks like your login page is secure (https), but the rest of the site isn't. IE is warning you that you're leaving the secure site.

Isn't there a checkbox that says "Don't show this alert anymore" or something like that?

erik
no. that is what is so DUMB about IE6. yes, the login is extra secure. why does everything else need 128bit? i think we're going to remove SSL from login as it isn't necessary (most sites don't use it). thoughts?

Hi Erik,

I have IE7 but the same applies to IE6.  Go to Internet Options, Advanced, scroll down to almost the bottom where you will see: "Warn if changing between secure and not secure mode".  Untick this item, it may prevent your message from coming up.  In addition, tick the don't show me message if it comes up again.  I hope that this will help.

thanks :) it isn't for me. it is the users of IE6 who don't know that this is a bogus message that bothers me.

Got youSmileI usually kill off all those unnecessary warnings and messages.

I am using IE 6.0.2900.218, with WinXP (I think this is the IE that came with WinXP) I have no probs loging in to my Chess.com account, I do however get a couple of sucure and non-secure and entering secure pages alert boxes appearing, I just click yes and/or continue and all is fine and I get entry.
