Is blocking a person completely without restrictions, or is it not OK to randomly block people?

Recently a person who I was originally friends with suddenly removed me as friend, unfollowed me, and blocked me (I will not say who it is but if you're on GM's club you might be able to guess). However, I was not rude nor did I insult him. I asked him about this in a forum, and he responded with a general, weird and unreasonable statement as the reason for doing all that. My question is, is this behavior completely allowed? Or is there some kind of regulations on blocking a person who was not impolite and did not ever violated any Code of Conduct rules or Club rules? Moreover, he blocked me from commenting on any single post he made. Are these behaviors not kind of extreme? Is there any rules preventing this, or is there none and I should just accept this? Thanks for any help!

How was his response? And yeah, I asked him about it

I don't know why he was so angry about this though, I mean a few questions can't hurt, there is no need to block someone and leave a club which is thriving

So you immediately figured out who I was talking about. BTW you asked him? Thanks for helping! ChessGods is perplexed too. He was also blocked.

Uh...slight correction here. I did not ask him any questions. He blocked me and ChessGods before we asked him questions about why he blocked us. So apparently he was mad from the start before we asked any questions.

I mean like the questions about the forum he made or something

TitanMaster101

It's interesting 'cause if he didn't want to answer the questions, he could've just said so or changed the subject or deleted the forum or whatever. Blocking you and leaving the club will only cause more disruption.

AngryPuffer

yes it is

Just ignore the person. You don need them. Itś better not to get into drama.

Oh right. But that was a few days ago though.

Yeah, I completely agree. Apparently he wanted me and the others to follow his way. We kinda got into a fight a few days ago, in which he expressed emotions and left the club. Later, with ChessGods's help (actually, mainly thanks to ChessGods), we managed to get him back. After that we didn't argue or have any fights or anything. But he just suddenly did that yesterday. IDK the reason.

Well, that is what we inevitably will be forced to face if we can't find the reason and get him back. However, we still need to try.

If a member wants to block someone, they can do so for any reason at all.

So there are no restrictions whatsoever. We can do nothing about it?

Oh, OK. But is blocking me from making any comments on any of their posts also allowed? Also, I'm a SA in that club, do I have the authority to override the blocking (the person left the club, so why is the ban-from-comment still there?)?

Martin_Stahl

That's how blocking works; you can't comment on any of their original content. I believe there's a ticket in for a future update where blocking won't work in clubs against that club's admins.

You can't override the block but you should be able to remove the topic.

StudyMaster156

That's worse.
