happened to me just now, the chess.com server is broke or something and I lost rating points because of that... frustrating, there's a better chess app out there anyways, guess i'll play there
Losing connection during games at Chess.com
Also Had this Problem multiple Times now and thought it's some Kind of Hack already AS IT was Always when winning ... And right now also, was winning, then disconnect ... But 6 minutes later i could reconnect and saw that the time for my opponent almost run out.
He then lost due to time rather than checkmate so ist was definitely a Server Problem for both sites
This is outrageous. This kind of thing happened to me on numerous occasions. If this keeps happening I will delete my chess.com account and never play here again.
This is getting ridiculous losing games cause I can't reconnect. I refresh a billion times.
Then as soon as the timer is done.... I can reconnect with a loss!!!
Any official word on this? I can't say I'm as worked up about it as others here but it does take the fun out the game when I'm randomly cut off.
I enjoy playing on Chess.com but due to the current connection problems I prefer to play on "Lichess" and "Chess24".
When the connection problems are resolved by upgrading the servers, I will gladly return to play on Chess.com.
Yeah, I'm having serious regrets about paying the money for a year upfront - a mistake I will not repeat, not on this site at least. We deserve some communication that they're addressing this issue.
Not even mentioning any money back, I just mean a bare minimum of human decency and some sort of communication.
Yeah this is complete trash. I just dropped three straight games and finally was about to win with ladder mate in 1 and it crashed. I'm pretty pissed. The monthly fee is not cheap. I thinking class action lawsuit level pissed. This is not acceptable. I haven't dug to deep yet, but I can't find how to even to get a refund.

Staff are working in the problems and have put in place some changes to help. They are also continuing to optimize and increase capacity.

If you open a ticket to support with game links they should be able to refund rating points.

A ticket to support is also how you would go about getting a refund in general.

Same here, don't know if the problem is with chess.com or it's just cheaters. Freezing pieces all that just kills off the in interest in playing.
This needs to be fixed. I have a paid subscription and expect more. Hope it fixed before its time for me to renew my subscription.
I experienced this problem quite often over a longer period (and even moved to Lichess for a while for this reason), but the problem seem to have been sorted since a few months.

The problem mentioned in the more recent posts has been resolved. There's still work being completed to keep it from happening again if there's another major surge in interest, but everything has been stable.

Same thing happens to me all the time! Starting to get annoying, if they don't fix I'm going to start using a different app
