lost game by abandonment while waiting on opponent to move

it is NOT a problem of internet connection, it's clearly a bug from when the servers are probably overloaded. We all shared the same experience: it looks like it's the opponent's move, the clock counts on the other player, and then, without any warning we loose for our abandonment (!!!) which never happened

It's not a local problem. The problem is in Chess.com !

LOL as if you should need anything more than a basic stable connection to be able to play chess online. This isn’t streaming 8K.

Its not a problem with the internet connection no. The issue is also in the app sometimes.

Same here. Constar issues of app getting stuck and MY clock apparently keeps on running and of course when it is activated again I have almost no time left. Many times today. You have to fix this please Contact me I can help with description of events

Close to giving up. This is a new problem. I’ve played on chess.com for a couple years and except for a temporary issue when they changed how ten minute games were classified I’ve never had a problem. Now persistent game freezes. Both clocks stop. Happens every few games on either iOS device (phone or iPad). Internet or cellular. Closing the app and restarting will get it going again but for a 3 minute game that usually means a loss. I check for updates daily. The last one from a few days ago did not solve the problem.

I was waiting for opponent to play and I he didn’t play for the longest time and it just said I lost. I’m on Ethernet with really good wifi and it’s never dropped.

Please fix your servers chess.com this wasn’t the first time.

Same sort of problem for me. Today two times. Clock of my opponent and me (it looks like...) is stopped, I can’t play and finally I loose for cause of timeout!!

If I play on the computer, it will make me lose - if I play on the mobile (app) both clocks stop, and if you kill the app and reenter it will continue to count. So also different handling based on how you are logged on. Happened to me 5-6 times yesterday.

Same thing for me! Very frustrating. Any solutions?

NOT A PROBLEM OF INTERNET CONNECTION!

Hello,I have been on this app for just over a month and have got increasingly infuriating with opponents stopping their clock often when it’s there move,and ultimately winning games this is completely unacceptable behaviour can somebody tell me how this can be allowed it’s blatant cheating just to win games,often they are not good players either.

 

Other players can't impact your connection/clock. The iOS app has a bug; there is an update coming which I linked a staff post about it above

Now I play on Lichess. No problem. So good

Some very bad players on this app was winning hands down and he stopped his clock to win the game remember this name
